FARIN can provide monthly Global Insight Forecast data for the US economy and interest rates under three projected scenarios; base, high and low.

Using Global Insight’s assigned probabilities, FARIN clients may determine the true level of income at risk under these extremes, rather than using the historical immediate and permanent interest rate shocks or gradual rate ramps that assume a parallel move in all rates. These regulatory scenarios have long been used as a gauge for risk levels, but have rarely exhibited any correlation to actual rate behaviors in the marketplace. By incorporating Global Insight Forecasts, FARIN users will be able to more accurately predict the upcoming rate cycle’s effect on earnings, liquidity and risk levels.
